It is a medium-sized tree for its species however it is within proximity to the main building's front stairs and foundations which are cracking - its location is unsustainable. It should be noted that a comprehensive Structural Engineer's Report has been provided - the report outlined that cracks are most likely caused by the tree's roots and while remedial repairs could be undertaken this will likely be a temporary measure as the tree has potential to reach much larger proportions, worsening the damage. It should be noted that this tree is within a Heritage Conservation Area however based on the tree's location on site it is not subject to a Heritage Exemption Certificate.
