Very disappointed that our council are turning leafy Eltham into a concrete jungle like South Yarra. NO parking issues have been addressed (I have emailed council about parking issues but they really don't care) .. it's causing major congestion & traffic problems for local streets. Until parking problems are addressed I think this council should really consider NOT approving these sort of applications. It's just a greedy council getting more rates - and we are one of the highest rate payers in the state ... disgraceful ! I'm all for getting ridding of local councils, we don't need Federal, State & local !!!!

Another application for units in Eltham. The area (and Nillimbuk Council) is obviously on the list for developers as a known 'easy' place to make money with no care for the existing green wedge environs. What's happening with the other development applications for many units - including the application to contruct 2 five story buildings comprising 82 dwellings from 2016?? - we never hear anything from the Nillumbik Council. BTW that's the council we elected to care for our area.
I say no to this development as it will further 'cement' Eltham as a concrete village and further diminish our green wedge which is the reason many of us moved to the area.

I have already made a comment regarding this but forgot to mention .... the Nillumbik Shire Council own the land at 22 Luck Street .... (unless recently sold) it used to have a home on it that was rented to the same person for many years. She was distraught when basically thrown out ... next thing the house was demolished / and presto - council want to approve permit for three storey concrete jungle .... what a damm disgrace !! This council doesn't care about what the locals want or to protect the green wedge they keep telling us we live in.

Shame on you Nillumbik shire council!! You evicted a lady out of her home 'her family home' of over 28 years and advised her that the council land would be used to improve road and parking infrastructure in Eltham. Lies lies lies. Its all about money and revenue and you have no genuine care for the people of the Eltham community. These people are what makes Eltham the desirable and green community, but now it is just a developers haven and council money pit. Really Nillumbik council you need to have a good look at yourselves. 24 apartments on the Pryor street block, 103 apartments between Arthur Street and Dudley Street and now 8 three storey town houses on 22 luck street. There is already limited parking in Eltham town centre and our roads are always congested, not to mention our public transport is poor and overcrowded. Get your priorities right.
