We are very concerned with regard to a Development Application for a boarding house at 6 Ross Street, Newport.

This area is very6 flood prone and regularly inundated with water after heavy rain. Flood water, dampness and mould would be unhealthy for vulnerable people.

Another issue is parking in Ross Street. This area is already busy with the community centre, bowling club and a new development on the corner of the Boulevarde and Barrenjoey Road. Trailers and boats are being left in Ross Street and the Boulevarde and higher density living would put pressure on available parking and further exacerbate the problem.

We do not think this area is suitable for boarding houses.
