this stretch of road has become increasingly dangerous for pedestrians due to the increased food and retail - namely the bake bar on one side, bunnings and the QE supermarket on the other. There is no safe means of crossing and traffic is both heavy and fast. there are also blind spots due to the road's curve. There is also a large block of apartments going up. Council have to put in a pedestrian crossing as a matter of urgency as it is clear pedestrians will not walk up to the lights at frenchmans and clovelly road intersection. Please.

Completely agree with Celia, a pedestrian crossing is required on Frenchmans Road somewhere near Corner 75 restaurant or the butcher/ bunnings. Many people cross the road here anyway which is dangerous.

I agree that a pedestrian crossing or something needs to be considered for this stretch of road. I understand that Frenchmans is a major part of the north-south arterial link in the eastern suburbs, but this strip is already a relatively busy retail strip and is increasingly becoming more of a retail destination and 'eat street' in and of itself. The options to consider should be:
    1. A zebra crossing, potentially with a very gentle rise.
    2. A protected pedestrian refuge or median strip.
    2. A change in pavement material, such as the yellow hexagonal imprint or stencil pavers, as you enter or throughout the strip to make drivers aware that there is a change in circumstances. Alternatively, some of those long zig-zagging lines that lead up to pedestrian crossings lining this section of Frenchmans would alert drivers.
    3. Traffic calming such as a narrowing of the road with protruding kerb extensions (such as those successful ones installed at the cnr of Clovelly Rd and Mundarrah St).
