I am very concerned about the overdevelopment of this site. 9 storey tower block opposite single story dwellings on Lilydale St, 10 story tower and 11 story towers on Livingstone Rds and 221 dwellings. Also of concern is the fact that only 9 are tagged as Affordable housing. Considering the fact that this was a Public Hospital site gifted to Marrickville Council for Community use I think that the affordable housing should be greatly increased. In London Boris Johnston Conservative Mayor was lobbying for 28% and the new mayor Sadiq Khan is suggesting 50%. With such a shortage of affordable housing in the Marrickville area the 9 out of 221 should be greatly increased to at least 50. Previously elected Councillors used the selling point for the sale of the land to developers by saying that it would be for affordable housing.
It would be good to know the mix of sizes of the units and number of bedrooms considering the trend for studio and 1 bed apartments.
I am also concerned about parking provision for such a large mixed use development.
I visited the Library to view plans. Such large developments are usually on display there but was unable to.
Think there needs to be much wider and longer consultation on this project which will dominate the Marrickville landscape.

My apologies for incorrect information. I thought that the land had been sold to the developers however Council bought the land from the State Government and Council still owns the land so it is even more important that the number of affordable dwellings is increased. I would recommend that anyone who is interested go to Marrickville Council Website to read more about this DA which is on Exhibition.

I strongly object to the size of the residential towers of 9, 10, 11 stories. This is not in keeping with the aesthetic of Marrickville and will begin the process of turning Marrickville into a high rise development similar to Rockdale. The number of affordable housing is also way too low. Can the Council advise what the impact will be of the increased traffic due to the additional cars that result from the 221 apartments. The roads simply cannot sustain the increase.
In addition, there is a proposal to add an 11 story residential tower as part of the Victoria Road Precinct - again, the roads cannot sustain the increase in traffic.

Apparently I'm too late for my comments to officially matter however the three key issues must be addressed.
11, 10 and 9 stories of Mvrac is completely out of character with Marrickville and far exceeds the existing the height of area.
The token percentage of affordable housing is disgraceful and again out of step with community standards in the area.
The impact of traffic from the three apartment towers will cause further traffic gridlock at critical times around school pick up and drop off.
