This hotel is too tall and will be an eyesore since it will be inconsistent with the surrounding buildings and will make the area more cramped/crowded.

Having a hotel there will also increase the amount of congestion along this part of Pacific Highway with the amount of cars and taxis coming in and out of the building.

A 14 storey building on a narrow piece of land? The rest of the block has a height of 1-2 storeys. This hotel would stick out like the proverbial sore thumb. It would be an eyesore.

This development goes totally against the concept plan that Lane Cove Council's LEP 2009 proposed. It's a misuse of the shopping strip, Christie Lane and the office buildings behind that are bordered by Christie and Lithgow Streets. Pacific Highway is a major transport corridor in conjunction with St Leonards Station. This block from 546 to 564 and the buildings behind are ideal for a major development incorporating retail, commercial and residential space.

Too tall and a misuse of the available land, as pointed out by Anne it is at odds with Lane Cove Councils own proposals.

  5. Tony Gribben commented

I think this is the wrong sort of development for this site. It is also too high. I can see major potential for increased traffic congestion along the Pacific Highway as cars / taxis bank up trying to get into the hotel.

I would prefer to see medium level (8 stories max) retail / commercial / residential development.
