3 applications for boarding houses in the area? Is this how Marrickville Council is going to raise money? By stacking people on top of one another? Invading the privacy of their neighbours? Increasing the number of cars needing to park on the street because the buildings do not come with parking or insufficient parking capacity?

It is Councils responsibility to maintain the the type of suburb and area that people have invested their hard earn dollars to purchase property. Development for revenue or development sake doesn't make sense. That's not to say that development doesn't have it's benefits but it needs to be considered in conjunction with the reason people chose to live here in the first place. Do not approve this development. Consider your current citizens and constituents.

I oppose the demolition of this 115year old Marrickville dwelling. In keeping with the early Sydney suburb of Marrickville, I would hope that the original part of the dwelling and original wrought iron fence, which dates to 1906 (Source: John Sands Directory), should be retained and utilised in any future development.

This is not a good proposal, on the one hand council seems to be shuffling artists and low income earners away from the old industrial zones where they have been able to establish their own network of low-cost shared housing, but on the other hand allowing significant historical dwellings to be knocked down and replaced with cheap boarding houses? So sick of seeing councils stacked with councilors with no vision for the area or the community, just dumb plans to wreck the joint in the name of profit.
