    Objections to this proposal.

    1. Excessive car parking
    2. Lack of Open Space for the residents to sun dry their washing (does the by-law say no drying on glass balconies?)
3.Lack of Tree planting to offset emissions from motor vehicles
4.No Storm Water management - connection to storm water system and risk of flooding in basement and risk to life particularly to users of disabled parking spots.
    5. Evacuation for "accessible" residences and foot/wheel chair access to street/public transport also important for these.

Three levels of car parking is excessive given the traffic study indicating that people in the area use public transport to commute to work. Creating parking spaces with motor vehicle lift for a block of just 30 units is a very expensive "solution".

How are the motor vehicle emissions to be offset with no trees planted on the site. See research here:

    Once again
Are we going to be looking at medium to high rise apartments right in the middle of Marrickville "community centre"
I own a property directly next to this proposed building
How will this effect my views by more than doubling the current height?!
What about green space? Will there be a roof garden or vertical gardens? Or will this be another money grab by developers?
    What about community space?
    One commercial lot?
    How about space for creatives,
A bar? A venue? Shared space?
How will this impact traffic in the already busy Illawarra road?
Are we seriously going to let developers again create a 6 storey building at the cost of the cool vibe that is Marrickville and the little shops and community that exists here

Not a fan at all and as this will directly effect my view I will be protesting pretty strongly against this

Councils need to consider the cumulative effect of these developments on the area. Each on one their own has a moderate impact on the surrounding residents, but when so many are happening across the suburb, we need to tally up the combined impact on things like traffic, parking, public transport etc. We are just a couple of years away from Marrickville becoming choked up with new residents on the roads and in the streets. Some streets are already quite narrow and heavy with traffic, like Illawarra Road.

The other issue is relating to stormwater and flooding management. With so many new, large developments happening, the available soil surface for rainwater to be absorbed into is shrinking rapidly. This will create further runoff into the stormwater drains and increase the impact of flooding. I know that this is an issue that council is currently investigating but it needs to be done holistically alongside reviewing development, as this is part of the problem.

I'm just wondering why this needs to be another big, grey, bland looking block?

Add this one to the very-unfinished-looking 'Revolution' development (Grey / no greenery), the big, concrete development on Illawarra Road, down near Steel Park (Grey / no greenery), the development currently being built on Illawarra Rd near the Yerros Shop (I'll take a guess...grey & no greenery) ...

I'm not against development, we need more stock, (preferably for folk who work in Essential Services, but that's for another discussion) - - my question is: why must these developments end up looking so unfinished, grey & free-of-any-greenery? Will this development be yet another cheap-looking, grey 'block' that starts peeling & disintegrating within months? Will the shops at the base sit vacant, like the 'retail Revolution' underneath the Revoloution block? Who polices this stuff?

At the very least, is there no way that some permanent foliage can be incorporated into these designs? I don't know... *something* to add or retain some of the character of Marrickville's streets??

These developments may be gorgeous & well-built on the inside - I hope for the residents' sake that they are well built - but, on the outside, well...I lothe to think what Marrickville's streets will look like in years to come.
