I would like to lodge a representation regarding the building of two new classrooms at Glen Dhu Primary School.

I am concerned that the planning has not taken into consideration the impact the new building design will have on the school amenity, aesthetics and history with the removal of the two historic English oak trees.

If the classroom design has the trees between them in a central verandah area it's a nature touch point for the children as they learn, allowing for shade in summer and ameliorating the need for use of air conditioning. The trees obviously let the much needed winter sun in, being deciduous.

The school has for 120 years in its designs incorporated the many beautiful
trees in the design of its school buildings.

I hope that the trees, which have been found to be in the arborists' report to be, attractive, in good health and a positive attribute to the school can have a building that can have them central to its design.

    Yours sincerely,

    Lisa Walkden
