I am writing to object to the development in Glenwood Ave Coogee.
Glenwood Ave is a cul-de-sac especially designed for the space it occupies.
There are ten buildings with four units in each mostly two bededrs; all with front
gardens, side driveways and some with garages. It is a well proportioned living
area with space and no overcrowding.
Apparently when it was first built it was exhibited as the right way to design for
the future and was viewed by many groups.
And now some developer has seen an open space which they want to fill in with
more units. Well, this well designed and well proportioned cul de sac does not
need overdevelopment. It has already many people and many cars and
    parking is a problem.

I notice also that the proposal is to put car parking lower than the road.
My proposed garage was knocked back because water would enter from
the street which was unexceptable from the council. So have the rules been
    changed ?

Can the council stop this development because of the over-crowding it would
    cause.

I agree with Raymond's comments. I recently went to view a unit on sale in Glenwood Avenue and one of the things which deterred me from the purchase was the congestion in the street. Literally every cm of parking space was taken up and the street is really narrow so I would imagine that more cars, more accidental swipes with cars. I live in Abbey Street in Randwick where its difficult to find parking and street is also narrow. People are constantly complaining that their cars have dents in them because of pass thru traffic.

Well, having seem the proposed design, I think it is horribly unsympathetic to the otherwise intact Art Deco feel of the original buildings.

Whilst I can see that the site could benefit from some improvements, that design is terrible.
