I dont understand why we are going thought this again l feel that this extra dwelling on a one house block is just not in the character of the the area.I was born and bread in this area and l would hate for our beautiful area to be distroyed, by over using any small space to build unsightly units .The space and trees and wildlife are what makes our area unique

I object to this second dwelling as it will mean the destruction of everything that Eltham is known to be - a quiet, natural and untouched suburb filled with happy and leisurely people. I have lived within the area for my whole 22 years and this unfortunately happened in Banks Road were I grew up, and it made my family and I so upset we eventually left Eltham because of it. Please don't allow this to happen and drive the beautiful people of Eltham away.

I strongly object to the development of this unit. This is not inner city! The council attracts people to its green belt area only to have its residence of this area let down with the further increasing of multiple dwellings on small size blocks. I don't understand why these people move here when they belong in inner city. Habitat destruction of our local wildlife is not what we signed up for. Let's set this precident to make sure this is not a common occurrence and let the people of Eltham get to enjoy what they signed up for.

I absolutely totally agree with all the comments that have been said.
Why do this to Eltham? It is ruining everything that Eltham is.
Being born and raised in the area, I know that Eltham is one of the safest, happiest and most beautiful places. The nature is everything. That's how I feel when I'm home.
So, I object and do NOT approve.

I strongly object to this second dwelling as my house l grew up in will be greatly affected
it just seems that someone who likes this area would even consider building on such a small piece of land .
As the block in question is sloping and the original house is set into the land the second dwelling will stand out like a sore thumb ,also the adjoining properties
which are both lower will get a fantastic view of what will look like a prison wall it will look so high as they are so much lower. Also l am worried about ithe effect of the natural drainage if the majority of the property is covered with the two units pathers and concret driveway there will be hardly any open grass area for water to drain naturaly and l do know water dose run down hill. There is also the issue of the light being blocked from the lower properties lets just hope that the coucil once again sees that this is just wrong and dose not comply with res code.

I wish to object to this proposed development. As a resident of the area in Eltham for 23 years, all developments must be consistent with the character of the area - which this is not.

Also the amenities of adjacent land owners, those who use the footpaths and roads and the local residents should not be adversely impacted. However this proposal will materially and significantly adversely affect the amenities of these local residents and land owners by way of native vegetation destruction, noise, lack of accessibility during the building process, visual impact of the proposed dwelling, intrusion of privacy of adjacent land owners, and detract from the "bush like" environment of the local properties thereby reducing their value were they to be sold.

The essence of the "Green Wedge" reflects the nature of the properties preserving a natural native vegetation appeal; whereas subdivision of properties with the construction of high or higher density dwellings is in contradiction to this Shire planning overlay. Whilst such dwellings have been constructed along the major traffic roads in the area, it is not the policy of the Shire, nor of the residents of Eltham, that such development be extended into the surrounding suburban regions as is the case in this proposal.

I urge the Shire to reject this application.

    Susan and Alistair Royse
