This appears to be a massive increase to double the number of people. I hope the authorities carefully weigh up the risks. It’s a small venue and an increase from 330 to 600 people appears to be a huge jump bearing in mind this is all about alcohol sales.

How can a venue almost double it's capacity of patrons safely, within the existing floor space?
This seems like a very large increase for the venue which already has large queues out the front on Fri and Sat nights The local area is becoming a hot spot for licensed bars/establishments including next door on Campbell Parade with Saltys and Curly Lewis Brewery as well as the new "dessert" bar directly opposite Ravesis which has just requested a DA for trading till midnight and will certainly follow with permit to become a licensed venue.
Council also need to consider that over the past 3-4 years, they have approved 6 new developments (4 of which are under construction) substantially increasing the density of people living at that end of Hall Street and Campbell Parade.
Has there been any assessment by council as to how these increases in licensed patronage will affect the local residences in terms of noise and anti-social behaviour? There does not appear to be any documentation provided with the DA on what the current noise level is at its current capacity, where the additional patronage will be housed, and a noise management plan and what the impact of this increase will be on the existing noise levels and also what additional security and measures they will be implementing to house this significant increase. Before making any decisions on the DA, Council need to review the Management of the Entire precinct area to ensure that it does negatively impact the area for the local community.
