I sincerely hope the developers of this old, historic venue are accountable and sympathetic to its long history in Northcote. Too many of our places of note are being destroyed and with it the character, stories and tradition. This venue holds many memories for people far and wide and it would be a travesty if the development does not respect this history.

This is one of the beautiful buildings in Darebin. It must be protected.

We’ve already lost many of the wonderful old buildings in our city, and they have been replaced with soulless buildings that make Darebin no more interesting than a newly created suburb - bland and dull.

The preservation of buildings like 212 - 214 High Street Northcote is critical to maintaining our city’s history and character.

    Thanks,
