An "adult shop" is highly inappropriate for the area and not desirable!
As a nearby resident, we would appreciate consideration of the residents.
Medical consulting rooms are preferable, or suitable alternative application.
Please seriously consider denying this application.

    No!
Glenelg is a classy, safe and very beautiful place to visit and live!
Don't cheapen it by making it like the Gold Coast (which I have lived near).
We have little crime because there are generally families, young couples, young adults, and visitors who look after the area.
    Please...no!!!

These type of items can no doubt be purchased on line. I don’t believe it is equitable for residents to pay a premium to live in Glenelg and have commercial operations of this nature in the precinct. Surely the residents deserve better.

Not the type of business anyone wants operating in the Holdfast Council. The space needs something that attracts tourists to the beachside destination not deter them.

Steven R said it all...this is not wanted by the Holdfast Bay residents...take a poll please, just don’t rubber stamp it. What sort of people is this type of business going to attract?

I agree it’s not an appropriate shop/business for what is a family friendly area hence the parks and playgrounds

Time for the Local Member to speak up and let's hear his/her views on this change.

Inappropriate for a family orientated area. These products can be purchased online. Such a great location, we need something that attracts tourism to the area.

At the main entrance (Anzac hwy) welcoming tourists and families, locals and visitors will be a sex shop. Is this what our community needs? Is this what our community wants? Personally I believe it is detrimental to the area. These items are bought online and such a shop would be better placed not in a prime spot. The reserve is a place for the city to bay, bay sheff, car events, sporting events, a family playground, i do not believe this is appropriate and fits within the current community design of the area Holdfast has created.

Inappropriate for the area. Prime position for welcoming tourists to the Bay, not to mention the many families who live in the area and would pass by each day. For a council claiming to be focused on community, families and wellbeing this doesn’t match up.

Totally inappropriate for the area. As a Glenelg North resident with a young family I strongly oppose the approval of this store

SHAME SHAME SHAME on you Holdfast Bay Council !!!
How could you approve this with the obvious disapproval of the community!
Every comment has been negative towards this application!

I have just seen whom you have granted tenancy to with their signage!
    Are they ratepayers???
    TOTAL DISREGARD !!!

  13. Kathy F commented

Just wishing to clarify the above comment - is there a sign indicating that the indoor playground has been replaced with the adult bookshop?

  14. Vicki Threadgold commented

It has been approved by the council, and they are moving in as we speak!
The Wiggly Worms signage is still there, however the new tenant has covered the windows advertising their products ie: Restricted18+/adult toys/erotica/intimate wear/ladies nights/vip nights/dvd's etc.
    It's not just a bookshop...........
