The proposed upgrade to Redbank Plains road includes the closure of Morgan St for exit. This auxilliary unit proposal, if approved, will mean a doubling of the vehicles entering and leaving this narrow block, onto a very narrow Johnson Road, all of whom will then need to exit via Verran Street. Too many cars will result in an impossible grid lock of vehicles trying to exit onto Redbank Plains Road at peak hour. These roads and intersections were not designed for this many cars, nor does future planning take it into consideration. This should be rejected for these reasons.

Another insane decision by Ipswich Council. They take zero responsibility for the outcomes of their half baked plans. More crowding and traffic problems in Bellbird Park will only result in frustration and violence like we saw in Redbank Plains yesterday. Where are the council when this happens? Sitting in their rate payer funded tower while residents and police have to wear the worry of fast disappearing safety.

So including the adjoining drainage lot falls into compliance with the 800sq.m requirement? Hhmm, what next, will they be including parks, schools, footpaths etc to undermine the intention of the Planning Act. This will set a precedent which will have a knock on effect for many years to come. Give us Bellbird Park residents a break and reject this application and stick to the Planning Scheme.
