I am not directly affected by this proposed development. However, I think the total obliteration of sunlight, water views and privacy for the Stevens St property adjoining the southern boundary is completely unreasonable.
This is a newly built dwelling and certainly the owner would not have imagined that this could happen.
I also think the plan proposes unnecessary and utilitarian density of dwellings that is out of character for Portarlington.

The size of this proposed development is out of character for Portarlington. I am not directly affected by the proposed 5 dwellings however it is inconsistent with the current use of land in that street and will impact on the quiet enjoyment of the neighbourhood.

  3. Elizabeth Turner commented

It's unfortunate that CoGG couch objections with the words about 'being directly affected about a proposed development'. What is approved, although outside the guidelines, will impact on another part of our town. Our town should be celebrated for back yards so children can play and encourage young families to stay or move here. Five dwellings on a single block is not about healthy families, it may be about BnB.

  4. Frances Berry commented

What a shame. 5 dwellings on a block is out of character for our town. The Council should be about preserving and protecting what we have. Please consider the impact this development will have on the surrounding properties and the precedent it sets for future developments.
