Please arrange for a qualified arborist to assess the tree - perhaps the lean is something that can be managed through pruning branches appropriately.

I object to the removal of this tree. An arborist report should be a minimum requirement before any decision can be made. It is an indigenous tree (possibly a Lemon Scented Gum) which provides habitat for wildlife and contributes to the streetscape as it can be seen from the street. It also provides welcome shade. The plan provided shows the tree is some distance from the house.
The City of Parramatta Council has undertaken to increase the tree canopy. Removal of this tree will significantly reduce the tree canopy and contribute further to heating the suburb. The City of Parramatta Council aims to make suburbs liveable, sustainable and productivity. Removal of this tree is contrary to these aims. Who wants to live in a hot, treeless, concreted, unhealthy suburb? Its removal will decrease property values and puts children's lives at risk through making them live in a place with poor air quality. Hasn't anyone else observed the increase in children who have chesty coughs?
The Council is part of the Western Sydney 'Turn Down the Heat' program. To allow this tree to be removed is contrary to the aims of this program.
The Council is committed to maintaining the character of suburbs. To remove this tree does not support this but rather will change our leafy suburb forever. The tree has taken years to grow. Please do not destroy it in less than a day - never to be replaced.
