As this is one of the rare historic-looking buildings still left, and recognising the need to update, a facade on the new shop exterior, bearing an historic look, would add character most other newer buildings in the area have lost. It's well located and convenient and it's charm is part of the reason I currently go there.

Need to ensure that the historic integrity of the site remains, while ensuring that a good service is provided to the residents of Kanwal and those working in both the public and private hospitals nearby. Excellent driving surface needs to ensured, with two exits, one to Craigie Avenue, and the other Pearce Road. Needs to be no parking signs near the entries to the site. Pearce Road intersection with Craigie Road can be extremely with school right near by, coupled with visitors and staff to the Private Hospital.

There is a massive Date palm tree which is hundreds of years old on the property. I know that the current owners are happy to cut that tree down with no consideration of its heritage. That tree is such a landmark in the area and should be preserved rather than hacked down in the name of development.
Due to the age of the buildings on the site, asbestos would no doubt be present. I want assurance that any demolition work involving asbestos is done by professionals. It is in a residential area with a primary school and a hospital within 100 metres of the site.
