The entertainment facility will have a dramatic impact on the transport facilities in and around Dora Street and Wyee Road Morisset. This would be a negative impact and local residents will find it difficult to visit shops and businesses in the Morisset area.

The noise impact is also a concern as it will be detrimental to the local residents. The facility will be a wasted space as the community will not be accessing the grounds regularly, that this so called 'natural amphitheatre' is proposed to occupy. If the golf and bowls facility was to remain then there would be regular access by the community. In the proposal there is stated to have the stage 'shaped into an amphitheatre' which is contrary to the statement that it is a 'natural amphitheatre'.

There would have to be major infrastructure; roads especially and by-passes to the centre of town, so locals can access the M1 easily. There would be great competition with the events in the Hunter Valley - Cessnock area, that would take numbers away from the proposed event site at Morisset.

The development application proposes to have markets once a month. This is already catered for at the Morisset showground so therefore should not be included to support the development application to the hosting markets.

It should not be forgotten that over 700 local residents were associated with the sporting facilities (golf and bowls), that are already established. A great proportion of the residents are retired, adding to the sporting facilities available to the numerous retirement villages and local residents in Morisset, Cooranbong and surrounding areas.

I believe that this and other matters as discussed should preclude the approval of this proposed development.
