This DA should not be approved as it results in the loss of affordable housing and contributes to a significant cumulative loss of affordable housing in the Waverley GA. The application provides no figures to support the assertion that Waverley has seen significant growth in affordable housing; providing only one example at 27-29 Macpherson street. There are equally as many or more examples of affordable housing loss in the area e.g. 25 Salisbury street. Our suburbs needs affordable housing for those on low incomes and our key workers, e.g. nurses and teachers.

The suggested offer of $300 to enable residents to find alternative comparable accommodation is completely out of touch with the significant challenges facing Waverley residents to find affordable housing. Any development of this site should offer affordable housing equivalent to that already existing.

Housing affordability is a huge issue for residents of Waverley. We need affordable housing for those on low incomes and our key workers, e.g. nurses and teachers.
