I have no problem with Patonga getting cell phone access via a cell tower on the hill. I have 2 oppositions: (1) I most definitely oppose 5G installations everywhere. (2) I also feel that the maximum limit of output intensity should not exceed 100mW/m2 (The EME report shows that the theoretical maximum is 460.44 mW/m2 at 100 - 200m radius at 1.5m above ground. I would wish it to be limited to 100mW/m2. (3) Before proceeding the people of Patonga would need to want this device. In particular, anyone there who is EMF hypersensitive should have the same rights to access without harm as everyone else. We do this for disabled people at shopping centers and even give ramps at train stations. People who are EMF sensitive should have rights. Either the council and Telecom companies pay to create solutions or EMF safe communities in Central Coast or they must revert to FTTP cable to premises and satellite internet.
So if you can resolve those 3 please do go ahead.
    EXPLANATION:
5G is entirely unlike 2G, 3G, and 4G, as it is not just a cell transponder, it is a phased array radar device. Also, it puts out a pulsed scalar wave. The biological effects of which have been tested to be much more harmful to steady-state waves. Nothing in nature puts out anything like this and living organisms cannot adapt to this. Regards the radar tracking, as a customer you will not have an option to turn RF tracking off. This means a stalker could hack on and track their victims' whereabouts. There are no end users who want to be stalked, nor do they want to be spied on by the NSA or other organizations.
5G has major gaps in cybersecurity that are too risky and should first be resolved before proceeding. As the monopole is in a bush area the risk to insects, bees, birds bats and small animals is too high to have 5G and outputs above 100mW/m2.
Do put the post behind the crash barrier otherwise if someone crashes into it there could be a fire or the falling parts could kill someone.
There is a FALSE telecom industry created argument that non-ionizing radiation at below heating effects (of 1-degree Celcius) cannot cause harm. This would be laughable if it were not causing long term harm. There is a whole industry with a huge number of manufacturers selling ultrasonic pest control devices worldwide. The effects of which are arguably far less than 5G (far less power and shorter distance output). Real tests have been done on ultrasonic devices and there is no doubt they irradicate crickets and reduce movement of rodents and insects.
As a reference places around the world where 5G has been installed are rapidly being irradicated of all insects. For example Glastonbury in the UK.

No 5g please. This is near bushland, precious Aussie bushland. The evidence is saying 5g frequencies interrupts the wellbeing of insects, including bees. Pleas no pole, and reconsider 5g until we have better evidence. Please. We are real people, let’s not make a huge mistake!

5G towers bring about unregulated and untested safety risks to our citizens. This tower will be placed near bushland putting animals and their natural habitats at risk without consideration. An American school placed a 5G tower near a school and 8 of the children that went there developed cancer with many more suffering the long term effects of emf radiation. Please do not put up a 5G pole. Consider our people. Do not take advantage of the unaware.

I oppose the tower. Patonga is an untouched gem and doesn’t need to be sullied with a cellphone tower. There is already enough signal there to make emergency calls. I especially oppose the addition of 5G which has not been proven safe for humans, animals or even plant life, and many cities around the world are halting 5G installation recognising the potential dangerous impact. It’s not fair to make us the guinea pigs.

I strongly oppose this tower. I have sent a link to a 15 year study!

Its a Report detailing the exodus of species from the Mt. Nardi area of the Nightcap National
Park World Heritage Area during a 15-year period (2000-2015.)

Everything around this area is dead! Local wildlife (all listed in the report) gone! The insects are all gone! the soil is dead the trees are dying. The same thing is happening everywhere around these towers. The same thing is going to happen here. I would like someone from Optus and the council to sign a letter stating that this is 100% safe for humans and all animals as I am trying to figure who is going to be liable when all this blows open. Property prices around the towers drop too. Many studies on this. No one wants to live near them and they are being placed everywhere carelessly. It's unsafe and the precautionary principle needs to be applied on all this infrastructure.

This tower has had no consultation with the local community. Each individual should be given the right to research and scientific studies before any decisions are made.
A complete moratorium on the 5G rollout needs to be put in place before any new infrastructures are erected.
Several concerned citizens are demanding consultation for the health and safety of the families and the wildlife that live in this area.

I oppose the tower. There is insufficient evidence to prove that this technology (5G) will not have a detrimental impact on the local flora, fauna and residents. This is a risk that is not worth taking. We must protect the environment as the first priority.

I am concerned about the impact this will have on a beautiful little haven. With the increase in mental health issues, phone addiction and the hard toll our natural environment has taken. We need to leave some things untouched. Connecting with our natural environment is so important for the soul. I am as of now so lucky to have this amazing place just around the corner where my family and I can go and heal from the chaos of modern life.

Patonga has been a haven for me and my family for years. I love that there is poor phone reception in areas and that my body can have a rest from the consant bombardment of EMFs that we are subjected to in most other parts of the Central Coast. It has been a place to truly unwind and rest. Don't spoil this precious part of our coast by installing this tower. Give the people of Patonga, those that come to visit for its tranquilty and the wildlife that surround it some peace.
Consider the location of this proposed tower. It is next to a National Park and is zoned as land for Environmental Protection 2. How is installling a tower on this land in keeping with the aims to protect high ecological, scientific, cultural or asthetic values?

I DO NOT CONSENT TO BEING A GUINEA PIG TO A LARGELY UNTESTED TECHNOLOGY FOR THE SAKE OF UNCONSCIONABLE PROFITS.
The technology is largely untested, and tests that have been done have exhibited harmful effects. 5G has been banned in several countries!
If only we could hear the 5G signal waves every part of our organic tissue be resonating a high pitched screaming noise.

  11. Shelley Barron commented

I oppose this tower . There is growing evidence that 5G radio frequency radiation are harmful to humans and our environment. The guidelines that are given by ARPANSA are out of date. The testing they refer to was done back in 2002, which was even before 4G! 5G will massively increase exposure to the RF radiation on top of the 2G, 3G and 4G network for telecommunications already in place.
