why is another Liquor outlet being proposed, we have several already in the Balwyn group of shops? Enough is enough!

    This is a ridiculous proposal
We have plenty of liquor outlets in the Balwyn shopping centre
    A huge liquor barn
    A liquor outlet at Woolworths
A liquor shop in the centre near the Church of Christ
A bottle shop at the Surrey Hills end of Whitehorse Road
A bottle shop next to the paint shop in Whitehorse road
Just how thirsty are the residents of Balwyn
What sort of message does this signal to our young people

Is the impact on the density of liquor outlets still being measured to determine applications for liquor licences in Boroondara?

"In Melbourne, the density of liquor licences is positively associated with rates of domestic violence over time. The effects were particularly large for packaged liquor outlets, suggesting a need for licensing policies that pay more attention to off‐premise alcohol availability". Dr Michael Livingston (leading Australian alcohol policy researcher).

The Dry area of Boroondara has double the number of packaged liquor outlets compared with the rest of Boroondara.
