I object to yet another food outlet in this small section of Crown Street because that Council's infrastructure is already overstretched and another food outlet will further stress the already inadequate parking for delivery vans, cars and trucks as well as garbage collection. Because there is no legal short term parking available for deliveries, vans, cars and trucks servicing the four neigbouring food outlets already operating (these are: 491, 489, 479 & 477 Crown Street) delivery vehicles always, (everyday) park illegally the middle of Jesson Lane as well as in NO STOPPING Zones in Jesson Lane, which runs behind all these premises. The vehicles not only completely block Jesson Lane to any other vehicles entering or leaving, it is also hazardous as Jesson is a dead-end and therefore any vehicles wishing to enter the lane need to first reverse out in order to allow the delivery truck to also reverse out before driving back into the lane and onto their destination. Likewise council's system of contracting waste removal is a dismal failure and does not work as was planned with Commercial Bins left on Public footways 24/7. Many proprietors choose not to bring them in after collection. Unlike City Road in Newtown where there are NO bins on the footpath during the day or night, please have look at how many bins are left out ALL DAY on Crown Street (between Foveaux and Cleveland Street). It's a disgrace! There are strict rules for using tables and chairs on ratepayers footpaths but wheelie bins, large and small get away with being stored on footpaths for no cost at all. It's time council revisited this system and made appropriate changes.
If Council wants to approve another food outlet please provide adequate short term parking for deliveries.
