Can the owners work around the tree at the back and/or plant street tree when the build has finished? See Council's preferred tree list for ideas and preferably plant an advanced specimen in auntumn/winter for fast growth and sustainability.
This will help the Peninsula recover some of the many mature trees that have been lost to intensive developments (villas, granny flats and units). The Peninsula is now rated, with Warnervale and Long Jetty, the hottest 'heat-sink' area on the Central Coast.
Also, yet another granny flat means more cars on rear lane ways. Can Council ensure there is on-site parking for this cottage to save neighbours complaining in the future about extra cars obstructing access?
