The submission to reduce visitor spaces to increase resident parking is unacceptable given the strain on parking in Cronulla . The provision of parking , resident and visitor should not be compromised

Cronulla has an extremely serious problem for people visiting the area. It is unacceptable that visitor parking for this development be reduced. This means visitors will park in the streets or take up parking in the public carpark. The change to this DA should not be accepted.

In response to the earlier comments, the number of parking spaces for residents increases with this DA. It will stop people illegally parking on a private driveway.

The reason for the DA is to stop vehicles illegally parking on private property. It’s that simple. People ignore ‘resident parking only’ signs. Some vehicles are parked illegally for up to a week at a time on a privately owned driveway.

The reason for this DA is because every day and night a number of vehicles from other properties illegally park on private property without permission. This DA is the only option to get back our own land.

I can’t understand what the problem is. If this is private property, owned and maintained by the residents of the block than why should visitors/residents not visiting the owning block have a say about what they do with their private land. Seems like a no brainer to me. I support the block having its own parking for its own visitors and residents.

I'd like to know....How many are increased, and how many are decreased? Any reduction in parking, is a grab for more money. By reducing the visitors parking, and increasing the resident parking, is to simply be able to increase the price of the units. Any units or apartments built, should have at least one car space per bedroom. But the developers and the council don't make money on space, other than changing the DA afterwards, such as this. I'm appalled at the level of construction in the shire. I can't wait to get out. It's ruined!

I have no Objections to this plan.
It seems to be a simple matter of the owners of the land seeking to have the right to use their own property for their own residents and visitors, which will make little difference to the volume of cars seeking parking in the Cronulla area.

Why can’t the council or police deal with the illegal parking issue? Or perhaps put in something that obstructs illegal Parking. Makes more sense to me than pushing visitors across the street to the public parking, which should be for people shopping or using services of local businesses.
