I object to the removal of these trees. This property is in the East Epping Heritage Conservation Area so special attention needs to be given to the heritage value of the 5 trees for removal. The 2 or 3 Conifers in the western side fence line could easily be trimmed away from the fence. The metal wire fence does not appear damaged and a trim of the trees would alleviate any possible damage. Likewise the 3 trees near the rear on the eastern side could be pruned and this should prevent damage to the fence. It does not appear necessary to remove these trees to preserve the fences.

Should Council allow the removal of these trees they must be replaced by another 5 trees on the property to assist in maintaining the HCA streetscape and the character of the suburb. This needs to be a condition which Council needs to include for all trees approved for removal in Epping.

    Please protect existing trees.
The character and desirability of our neighborhood depend on out trees and shrubs.
They take years to reach maturity, and then provide homes for our birds and fauna.

Everywhere, it seems, we are now rendered speechless in our walks by a chorus of chainsaws bringing down majestic trees,. In most cases -- unnecessarily.

Learn to love the trees, and live with them -- and look after them.

If for no other reason, they will increase -- not decrease -- the value of your property.

I am concerned at the potential loss of even more trees from the Epping area. This suburb has acquired its leafy character with trees on everyone's properties, and it will create a local microclimate that is more pleasant in summer with more trees. We all benefit from keeping trees in the landscape - people as well as animals.
