OBriens Road Cohuna 3568
Rehabilitate the existing earthen irrigation channel through desilting, aquatic vegetation removal, inside bank remodelling with rock armouring works and a reach of geosynthetic clay lining (GCL) along with strategic removal of 18 native trees at risk of damage from construction and impacting public safety. To coordinate the works, a traffic management plan outlining both vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be prepared as the nearby road and footpath network will be exposed to the works. This will include tip trucks taking and removing earthen materials to and from site via the road network and blocking off footpaths adjacent to the works being performed by excavators. The works site will be secured with the use of temporary fencing and project specific signage for public safety. The works are being communicated between relevant stakeholders including Gannawarra Shire Council (GSC), Parkrun, immediate GMW customers, nearby residents and the general community in accordance with GMW's Communications and Engagement Plan formulated for this specific project. GMW organised a site meeting briefing three representatives of GSC's Infrastructure Services on Tuesday 27 February 2024 regarding the scope of works for the project. Supporting documentation is attached consisting of a Detailed Design Report outlining the proposed works, Native Vegetation Assessment report documenting the proposed native vegetation to be removed and Detailed Design Drawings documenting the proposed physical works onsite. Impacts created will be those outlined to native vegetation, increased heavy vehicle movements for the duration of works (~20 May to 12 July 2024), and noise and possible dust from tip trucks on urban streets.
