    My proposal for the “change of use” at 370 Centre Road, Bentleigh is based on the evolution of the area. With so many developments of new apartment buildings happening recently I want to create a space where locals can go for their morning coffee, lunch in the afternoons or for a social after-work beverage. I believe that Bentleigh and its surrounding suburbs will see a positive boost in population over the next couple of years and I want to be able to cater to our new residence and help our local economy.

    Existing permit allows: Construction of two double storey dwellings Proposed amendments: Unit 1 study east-facing wall has been pushed out to line up with Unit 2 study east-facing wall. All east-facing walls are still behind the front setback line. Separated windows to the study rooms in lieu of sidelight window to the entry doors for both units. Face brickwork in lieu of render finish for the external kitchen walls for both units. New modern façade to both units. As a result, removal of matrix cladding to the first floor for both units and inclusion of new vertical cladding to the front façade. Render finish has been kept to the first-floor external walls and also included in the ground floor external-front facade walls for both units. Standard awning window to north/south-facing lounge room in lieu of 3 panel windows. New skylights over stairs for both units. New skylight to walk in robes for both units. Removal of linen in the hallway to increase bed 3 size for both units. 1.0m high stained timber post & black picket/blade dividing fence to the front of the property and meter boxes in lieu of 0.9m high timber fence
