I have already sent an email that has been received by Bayside Council however this S96 (1A) modification application has just been brought to my attention.
I am owner resident at 12 Bowood Ave.
This development already has overwhelming proportions and the addition of a roof extension affects all those surrounding in regards to shadow, etc.
We are aware also that the additional windows on the ground floor that are already in place (how can this be already done without approval) and positioned so as to further intrude on the privacy of the residents of 3 Bowood Ave.
I did not note on the description of the changes that the tandem garage has now been made a single garage to accommodate another room?

This development is already contentious in regards to the large number of complaints at the time of it submission and further to the council approving subdivision of the house block next door to allow it to go ahead.

Where is the Council oversight of this development?? There appears to be none.

How can it be allowed to continue to include more detrimental changes that affect other
residents?? Who is controlling this??

I hope that the result of this is just not another rubber stamp by Council to unethical developers.

Gary, I’m also a resident, I am appalled at your response to this modification.
I have been tracking this application since it was originally lodged and the young family NOT developers as we all know, have done nothing but abide to the council rules and regulations. NOT once has there been an issue neither with the builders nor with the applicants. Stating the obvious, the reason Council approved the development is simply because it abides by the DCP, and not declined because of vindictive neighbours. You are located at number 12, across the street and half way up from the development located at number 1, cannot understand how this MINOR amendment impends on you in anyway, or anyone for that matter as the addition of the roof is in the REAR of the property, explain how this affects you over in number 12? ALSO the removal of the sliding doors and single door and the inclusion of the small windows would increase privacy. I’m an elderly neighbour that keeps to myself, however enough is enough, I really feel sorry for this young couple, all they want to do is make a living in this difficult world we live in, and no-one should have the right to discriminate or cause a problem to these kids, when they are doing nothing wrong.
On another note, how dare you accuse council of anything, other than good honest work? when you state “Hope that the result of this is just not another rubber stamp by Council to unethical developers"
