Do you understand what the traffic is like in Epping - horrendous? Do you understand the difficulties that are happening now with overcrowding on Epping station? Have you got figures of what it will be like when the "metro" RAIL link will require people to change at Epping and Chatswood stations, and the danger of overcrowding on these stations. The units around here are tiny, no where to bring up children; they are being build to suit developers only not we the citizens. I have major concerns about what is happening in Epping and I think you should too.

I agree with Ms Chivers. The local infrastructure is unable to cater for the increasing population. The peak hour trains are already crowded. Epping West Public School has ten kindergarten classes, whereas there used to be three. Demountable classroooms are being placed on ground which should be part of the playground. Traffic is becoming increasingly congested. Will the cars from the five levels of car parking come out onto Rawson St and/or Beecroft Rd? Rawson St is already gridlocked at peak hours. Carlingford Rd is often banked up for some distance. Why are so many huge apartment buildings being built in what used to be our lovely garden suburb? The sense of community is fast fading. Please consider the current community when giving approval to high-rise buildings. Please do not allow more and more 18, 22 storey and higher apartment blocks.

This is for Parramatta Council,

Please feel to come to Epping town Center every weekday morning. From the zebra crossing at the council, the traffic stretches all the way to the Carlingford junction. There is endless of pedestrian across the zebra crossing, who do not cross in groups. To add a building around that area, does not indicate any common sense. We must have already 800 new units coming into Epping, and yet the traffic arrangement to alleviate congestion is minimal.

Please focus on rate payer needs, not on developer money making schemes.

I support the previous comments. Please consider making more detailed submissions for this DA to have your say. It is a 21 storey building with 131 apartments, about 165 car spaces and a childcare centre for 65 children. It is a major development including the Westpac bank, the Epping Walkway, the bakery and other shops. The traffic report concludes the 'traffic impacts are negligible' and 'parking arrangements are compliant with the Australian Standards'. Please note this DA also states, 'These types of childcare facilities do not provide drop off parking for parents' so there will be no dropping off of children. There will be 4 car parking spaces for the childcare centre reserved for the teachers only.

As has already been commented, a major concern is traffic. Rawson Street is already borderline unworkable, and adding significant numbers of cars to this already congested street is unworkable. Epping railway station is a major hub being expanded to include the Metro, so is already close to capacity. The enormous Poly buildings are nearing completion, so the crowding will intensify significantly once those are occupied, and many more projects are starting with identical outcomes.

There really is a need to pause and properly examine the infrastructure, let alone the living conditions for existing residents, before continuing the ill thought through rapid expansion of truly enormous apartment blocks. Epping will become an overdeveloped slum if we are not extremely careful.

This development should not be considered preferably at all, but in the least not until all the apartment blocks that have already been approved in Epping are built and occupied so we fully understand and have evidence the impact of their existence.

What about instead considering a building with shops beneath and office space above so that people living in Epping can actually shop and work here? Child care sounds like a great idea but if there's no parking designated so parents can drop off and pick up their children in safety, what's the point?

One only has to look at the existing local public schools to know that they are at or nearing capacity although there are more units still to be completed. The demographic of people moving in are happy to have their 3 generation families, including children, living in these apartments. These children need schools. They are reliant on cars because the shopping facilities at Epping are poor at best.

Traffic in the area is already in gridlock for many hours each day. How will the surrounding busy streets cope with more than 165 cars entering and exiting on a regular basis. Where will buses safely stop?

There are so many aspects to consider, and to proceed with such a development at this current time is not only short-sighted but idiotic and selfish of the developers. They only care about their return not about the impact of their blatant profiteering. Epping simply doesn't need more units.

I fully support enhancement & upgrades to Epping Town Centre - certainly well overdue. I do concur however with previous comments regarding the traffic manageability in the area. I trust this is being given every consideration by the appropriate bodies. Regards.

Neither the State Government nor Parramatta and Ryde Councils cares about the persons living within their respective communities.
Why so many units?
All development should cease at Epping. and local community meet and reaccess development
What is happening now is development out of control
