RE: Childcare centre Development application: DA/15/2018 Lot 131 DP8850 47 Dorothy st Wentworthville
Dear Shaylin,
I am writing to you in regards to the above mention development proposal and wish to advise that I object with the above application. My first objection is the impact of increased traffic. I have been living in this street for over 20 years now and I have noticed over the past months a very large increase in traffic volume caused by all of the new developments in this street with duplexes and triplexes. We already have grid lock in the morning trying to enter or exit out street with the number of students that attend Darcy Rd Public School (540 Students), to add a Childcare centre in the middle of our street is only going to increase the number of cars not to mention driveways that are constantly blocked by people who don't have anywhere else to park. I have attached photos for your perusal. This will be a constant problem every working day from 7am to 6pm. The proposal states that there will be 15 parking spaces. This will only accommodate the staff members only. There is no parking for parents who are dropping off or picking up children.
Secondly the level of noise from children playing and air conditioning units and trucks pulling in and out to do their deliveries again this will be going all day long. We have alot of elderly neighbours in our street and I hardly think that they are going to appreciate all of the noise that will be going all day long.
Devaluation of residential property values is also another concern. Dorothy st is a quiet residential street and having a childcare centre in the midst will interfere with the quiet enjoyment of nearby neighbours. This centre is a commercial non-residential, for profit, maximum capacity business in a residential zone. Dorothy street is zoned R2 - low density residential by Parramatta Local Environmental Plan 2011. There are no other commercial private businesses in Dorothy st.
There are already 8 existing childcare centres which are all within walking distance to Dorothy st and easy access to public transport. As of today all have available spaces to enrol more children.
Ideally it would be good for you to come out personally and witness for yourself the chaos we have in the mornings and afternoons in regards to the issue of traffic. There are more than enough near miss accidents and having a childcare centre built here will only further worsen the problem.
I hope all of the above is taken into consideration and that the above development proposal is rejected.
Thank you
Kind Regards

Frances
