Please don't allow highrise building so close to the river and our little bit of green space. We have very little greenspace in the Area and should be able to enjoy it without being overwhelmed with tall buildings. Ideally, this demolitionn would be used to increase the grenspace to accommodate the increasing population.

I hope this demolition is not for the purposes of further high rise development along the Cook's River. This would not align with objectives of the DPE and Greater Sydney Commission's in creating great places to live with more green space and amenity. Canterbury is already subject to inappropriate development.

there is too much new development close to Canterbury train station. There are hundreds of new apartments being built within 500 metres of the station. There is very little necessary infrastructure being built. We need schools, childcare facilities, medical centres not more apartments. Unfortunately under the previous Canterbury Council anything goes was the motto. Close st is dead end street and another new development will make it a traffic nightmare. We need more open, green, community, public spaces not less. Another block of flats is not the way to go.

Close St should never become a high rise district. It is a tiny little street with a very dangerous exit to Canterbury Rd. Another tall apartment block here will only add to the general ugliness that is Canterbury Rd, Canterbury. Any further developments here should be in keep with the beautiful nearby river. It would be good to see some green space or some small new commercial buildings at worst case, with plenty of setback from the road. Parking is a must.

Any approval to demolish a building in Close street must be done with reference to what will replace it. If residential apartments are proposed, this will further exacerbate traffic congestion in Close st and Canterbury Road. Close St is a dead end small street. Canterbury Rd is already badly congested. The Council's Canterbury Road Corridor Review last year showed it was an unworkable traffic corridor and any further planning approvals should be done at nodes, with cross street access, not in a linear fashion. Green space is at a premium in the Canterbury Bansktown LGA so any further apartments should not encroach on already diminished green space. I ask the Council to only approve the demolition if it will be replaced by low rise apartments or a town house complex with parking or a commecial building with parking spaces available.
