I object to the proposed outdoor play area. The subject site is not suitable for a child care facility in the first place - a more suitable place is the old bowling club building on the other side of Alfred St. However, to deal with this amendment, the proposed play area forms a public pedestrian thoroughfare from Glen St to Alfred St. The application represents the alienation of public open space and shouldn't be allowed. The effect on surrounding residences of noise generated in a concrete "fishbowl" would be horrendous. This application should be refused.
