There’s height limits for a reason. They’ve already made a design looking like a large air-duct and completely devalued the properties surrounding. No roof for you!

Unfortunately this building is already been identified as the ugliest development in McMahons Point in 2017; it's also been entered into the 'Ugliest Building of the Decade' competition.

The building essentially takes up all of the land on the site and its bulk is out of place in the surrounding environment. It is known colloquially as "the coffin".

I object in the strongest terms to ANY further pollution of this suburb from this inappropriate construction. The requested changes are OUTSIDE the height, setbacks, usage, noise and heritage requirements for the area.

The building that now stands over-occupying the block on the corner of East Crescent St. and Middle St.McMahon's Point is understandably already known locally as the 'Coffin'.

To add injury to Insult the Builder and Developer saw fit SIX MONTHS ago to erect a glassed in terrace on the height restricted flattened and ugly roof. Together with an external spiral staircase this has been done totally contrary to the Land and Environment Court's clear instructions on building limitations. The owner and developer will now be able to dance on the grave of that once beautiful street that runs down to the harbour in our precinct.

The continued construction and now occupation has proceeded despite this six month old transgression. We that live in heritage protected history are not permitted any such largesse.

This now substantial addition and unacceptable Extra Storey must not be permitted to persist.

The developer has already gone beyond the LEC conditions and seems to be snubbing his nose at the Council, The LEC and the community with the latest DA application.

Surely it is time for this developer to be required to meet eh already agreed development conditions and for his proposal for the roof terrace (which goes beyond well established height controls) rejected.

It's the wrong colour, paint it white, get rid of the black colour and no one would notice it.At the moment The Council needs to explain a few matters of this building to residents and clear the air.

Whist a wonderful looking building. A fantastic improvement to the locality. The black balustrades are very classy.

Submissions to Council about the application to construct a new roof terrace with external spiral stair, and a new spa pool at ground level are due by 23 March.

Highlighting impacts on the local area, including amenity, views from public places and other areas of community concern will help Council represent the public interest in the Land and Environment Court.

Those that live in the heritage protected areas are not permitted any such developments. Yet we are being made to accept this development. Totally unjust!

I own a unit in the building opposite and this development is totally unacceptable and has totally destroyed my once beautiful vista down to the harbour. The East Crescent Street approach that runs down to the harbour is now ruined. I am very saddened about this whole development.
