Proposed demolition of the existing far southern carpark & construction of a new two storey facility for Mental Health ACT. The AAIU will initially comprise of 40 beds on the ground floor with a central socialisation spine, therapies wing and support areas for treatment, assessment, staff, visitors and reception. A 10 bed extension will be considered at a later stage. The upper level has staff offices and is continuous with the elevated link proposed to Hospital Street across Bateson Road from the carpark. Open space to the west and south will provide gardens, a sports court, amphitheatre and a walking track.
