The gentrification of Holt St is terrific, and the number of approvals for outdoor dining to be commended. A terrific little village in the making. The footpath is however, becoming contested (tables, trees, street furniture) and through-traffic (as opposed to local traffic) on Holt St is at odds with the developing village mode, which is now (rightly) drawing many more people to the street. Holt St should be converted to a 10km/h Shared Zone and the kerbside parking re-apportioned so that space may be won back for walkways and more outdoor tables, moto/vespa parking, bicycle parking or even a small patch of grass. The current kerbside parking provision (along both sides of the street) substantially retards the development of Holt Street as a place for people.

On the matter of the specific approval, we approve: more outdoor dining please. What a great city to be outdoors in.
