Not a fan of units going up
    In our neighbourhood
    It just creates more traffic
    More congestion

Look at Strathfield with there insane unit structures
It's ridiculous it's like so confined and messy

  2. Rebecca commented

Not a fan of so many units going up. Especially with a primary school across the road and so many little kids. Traffic is bad enough as it is with drop off and pick up and will be dangerous if the u it's go up.

  3. Terri commented

Too many units for this location. Not enough street parking. Will stick out like a sore thumb.

I think that this is, unfortunately, another example of over development in the area, I am not sure how 12 units with residents, visitors and cars will fit in here. Is there any information about the type of commercial development? I wish the Council would listen to residents and not developers. It is a nice quiet area and the current hairdresser is amazing.

The zoning for this side of Lambeth St is not approved for high density housing. Please review as it is opposite a school and near a bowling club. limited on street parking, building work and residence parking on road permanently will obstruct school zone making it dangerous for children.

  6. Tom commented

This is not zoned for units, it is a LZN-B1 - B1 Neighbourhood Centre zoning - shops only.

    Council please review.

I grew up in Lambeth St please stop over crowding our roads n sewer systems can't cope. They say one of the biggest soul destroying things is lack of space please don't take that away from us

It is not zoned for this type of development. Parking at Panania Public School is becoming more difficult as more duplexes are built. If this type of development is allowed parking will become impossible. Developers are becoming too greedy!

  9. Sarah Perry commented

Are you SERIOUS ... the street is conjested as it is due to too many duplex residence replacing old homes. The Picnic Point Bowling Club has approval to construct a Child Care Centre not more than 100 metres away on the same side of the same street. It is outside a school where Kindy to year 2 enter and exit every day. I wonder who at Council will get kickbacks to approve this DISASTER.

This is the thin edge of the wedge. Who approves this, considering we have no councilors, who can we vote out if approved? Will we hear any justification if approved.

High density not appropriate for the area. Too close to Panania Public School, limited parking and traffic congestion at drop off and pick up times. There is never enough parking allowed by the developers, many families having at least 2 cars plus visitors cars to be considered. Spoiling this beautiful suburb that was chosen by many because of the style of housing, space and sense of community. Not everyone wants to live in or beside these towering structures. Sadly for those living beside these developments, a lot of over shadowing, loss of privacy. Huge developments already taking place in Ramsay Rd and Kennedy St. Please consider the strong views of your current ratepayers Bankstown Council.

Totally out of character for the area in addition to the parking / traffic problems already mentioned.

As a local resident in Irene St and a long time Panania resident having grown up in the area - this development is ludicrous. On the opposite corner is a development comprising of a duplex and granny flat already under way. This is simply over development. Be realistic!
As others have mentioned parking is already at a premium around the school with the majority of people ignoring parking signage making it almost impossible to drive into the street. Combined with an increased amount of duplex's around the area, Picnic Point Bowling Club the size of the development is without a doubt inappropriate for the area.
What about the tree on the property that they have already poisoned - if a normal resident had done that we would be fined. Two sets of rules one for renovators/home owners and the other for developers.
Bankstown Council continues to support developers greed over local home owners.

  14. Christine Pate commented

Unfortunately, this is another example of over development in the area. This is directly opposite the primary school and is a very busy spot for parents parking and dropping off students to school. It is already chaotic enough with buses and traffic and all the trucks around the area, with all the other developments that are going up, without another development opposite the school. This area in Lambeth Street is not zoned for units, it is a LZN-B1 - B1 Neighbourhood Centre zoning - shops only.

The surrounding streets have so many duplexes where people tend to park on the road instead of in their property as there is not enough room and use their very narrow garages for storage only, thus creating very busy streets, which is quite dangerous for students walking to nearby primary and high schools.

For these reasons listed above I strongly object to the development application being approved.

  15. This should not go ahead. commented

This is not the correct zone or place for apartments, end of story. Too close to public school and unsafe for primary school crossing with congestion. If for whatever wrong reason this is approved, the council clearly has no concern for the residents ( the ones also who pay their council bills) it's a fact that it's not the correct zone for apartments to be going ahead not to mentioned 3 storey opposite public school! If approved there is obviously something very wrong with the system. What's the point of having petitions and zoning if these greedy developers go ahead and get approval for these outrageous over the top developments? This is not the city, it's a quiet neighbourhood (well was once a quiet neighbourhood) which is already over congested with duplexes.

  16. Kellie F commented

Traffic and parking outside Panania public school is bad enough as it is and this development will only add to the chaos and create major safety issues for the young children who enter and exit the school from Lambeth Street. As it is, parents are having to park up to 2 blocks away to drop off their children because Lambeth street and surrounding side streets get so congested at school drop off/pick up times. The parking spaces included in the proposed development are not adequate and parents will likely take more risks at drop off time (trying to drop kids at the crossing etc) because they won't want to park even further away which will further compromise student safety. A ridiculous proposal.

  17. Jodie Shaw commented

Please don't!! I moved to this area because of the community and to get away from blocks of units and high rises. If this development proceeds, there will be overcrowding.
