Sydney Opera House - The Proponent is seeking to modify the Sydney Opera House development consent that currently permits the use of the Southern Forecourt and Monumental Steps for temporary events and functions as follows: • re-allocate the number and duration of event days currently permitted, resulting in a reduction of the total number of combined performing arts, community and corporate events and event days currently permitted (Condition 5); • permit a one-off event in 2016 running for 25 days (including bump-in and bump out), being Sydney Opera House – The Opera, to commemorate the creation of the Sydney Opera House, which is proposed to be conducted on the Southern Forecourt and Monumental Steps of the Sydney Opera House (Condition 5); • update existing conditions of consent to reflect modified arrangements for conducting outdoor events on the Southern Forecourt and Monumental Steps such as amending the hours of operation of events and rationalising and updating acoustic conditions (Condition 7, Condition 14, Conditions 33 & 34, Condition 42); and • deletion of conditions, including those that are no longer relevant to outdoor performances conducted on the Southern Forecourt and Monumental Steps (Condition 3, Condition 43, Conditions 54 & 55).
