I am totally against this type of development for a "Semi Rural" area also as was stated above we do not have the infastructure or road capacity to cope with the added population that this will bring we have only just been connected to a pressure sewerage system which is at capacity already and many people are still having issues with their electric pumps not functioning properly also due to the large number of quarry trucks and delivery trucks already using Old
Northern Road and Post Office Road the ongoing traffic congestion would be a nightmare and make paedestarian access unsafe please please do not let our beautiful Village be ruined by this kind of development.

This is an inappropriate application for Glenorie for the following reasons:
*Design not in keeping with the village atmosphere
*Buildings too high for the surrounding areas
*Shadowing on to surrounding houses not fair to those who have lived there for decades.
*Infrastructure not set up for this density of housing eg traffic, sewerage, drainage.
*Existing shops will have income affected.
*Already empty shops here - don't need more shops .

Please do not approve this application .

Is there even a need for apartment living in Glenorie. Apartment living goes hand in hand with areas providing transport and shopping - neither of which Glenorie is known for.

The small rural village will be gone, along with the local shops. Leaving the suburb with only Woolies.

How on earth can council consider high density living in the centre of a rural community?

I also disagree with this application, the area will not cope with the extra people or traffic. Glenorie doesn't have the public transport system that usually go hand in hand with apartment living, nor do we have the jobs, meaning more traffic on an already congestion New Line road, old northern road and Windsor road during peak hour. Glenorie is a small village, rural community, apartments will rip that apart. As already stated there are already vacant shops in the complex that they haven't been able to fill, let alone adding more. To even consider this, the area would need to be able to increase the primary school land to build more classrooms, the preschool has a waiting list already for next year, which four years ago they weren't even filling a single day to maximum numbers, the consideration of another public high school would have to be considered and we would need closer emergency services, to deal with the increased numbers, the roads would need to be fixed, widened and more traffic lights added. That's a lot of council money spent on an area to upset the majority of residents and to increase one families wealth, that fight against any competition that try to move into the area. Glenorie is a beautiful semi rural area whose locals love the feel that exist here currently, we choose to live out here with a lot community hours each day to go to work, simply so that we can enjoy the vast land and country feel that we come home to, apartments will destroy the single reason a lot of us choose to live so far from everything. Please consider carefully, this will effect everything here.

It's a joke. A complete discrace. Glenorie is loved by locals because its a quiet country town, we don't want it developed & espicially not by this ugly monstrosity... Good work Rob. You ate completely pissing of residents of glenorie once again with your genius plan. Why not just lock the gate again?... Knob Jockey.

We moved to Glenorie to go away from the hustle of suburbia. We enjoy our trip back home to Glenorie after work when we find piece and quiet. Glenorie is and should remain a place that we all can enjoy. We have shops, a lot of them are vacant, why do we need more and more importantly why do we need flats.
flats are built when the floor space is already occupied, not when it is in a village away from it all. what is the real purpose of this, who does it benefit. many know in the village and discontentment is growing largely because there is no need for this proposal. there are many ways to develop areas, no one opposes development and progress. this is not the way to address priorities and needs. i do not wish to leave Glenorie, i wish to enjoy many more years here without looking at an ugly development that serves no purposes beside someones ego.
why not build where it makes sense and furthermore build in a way that blends within the surroundings. this is nothing but the opposite.
unwanted, not required and not in keeping with the village. this is absolutely unnecessary.

Residential apartments do NOT belong in Glenorie. This monstrosity would bring traffic congestion and make the road dangerous.
We moved here because it's beautiful, QUIET and a safe place to live.
This application needs to be declined, there are enough apartments popping up in Castle Hill.
Please keep Glenorie a beautiful place to live. The community does not want this.

I also agree with many if the above comments. This type of development is definitely not suited to the Glenorie area. We live near to this impending development and are already impacted upon by the increase in traffic pulling in and out of the bus bay , traffic constantly parking in the no parking zones as you turn left in to Post Office Road also which is a definite hazard . The traffic flow at this intersection is too busy now without further vehicles. These premises would also be over looking into peoples back yards .

I wish to state my disapproval of this application and request you decline the DA as it currently stands, for the following reasons.
Glenorie is a unique suburb that has managed to capture a lovely semi-rural atmosphere that encapsulates the ideal for family living. It is a safe suburb and most of its community have moved to this area for that very reason and are passionate about the lifestyle that most dream of. This DA will undoubtedly bring a stop to this.
Currently, the congestion experienced on Post Office Road and Old Northern Road is at maximum capacity. Both roads are one lane in and out. To approve this DA of 24 units would permanently increase the traffic and roadside parking issues.
The current owners of the Glenorie Bakery and Shopping Centre are unable to fill stores already in the complex. It goes against common sense to approve a DA that would increase the number of shops and apartments only to have them sit empty awaiting tenants.
The area has only just had the sewer connected and many are still experiencing issues with sewer. There are also serious issues with drainage on Old Northern Road and Post Office Road.
We do not have the infrastructure in the form of public transport to accommodate current homeowners, let alone potentially 50 more.
The proposed building is not in keeping with the country atmosphere that Glenorie is known for.
I worry about the safety of school children who catch buses just opposite the proposed DA site; not to mention the public school children already dicing with trucks on Old Northern Road and congested traffic in the mornings and afternoons on Post Office Road.
I would hope that The Hills Council would value their semi-rural areas enough to think long and hard about this DA. I am not against development and progress in the right form. However, this is not the right form for our area.

I feel it is completly inappropriate for a high density developement such as this to even be considered in a rural area. If the subdivision of 5 and 25 acre properties is still deemed unsuitable, then why would a DA for a "block of flats" even see the light of day?
I strongly urge council to respect the rights of Glenories residents, and decline this Developement Application.
