The City should ensure that the placement of this outdoor dining (including curtilage requires for standing/waiting/arriving patrons) does not present conflicts with the future (walking and cycling) shared path that will exist on the eastern side of what is now Chalmers St, once the light rail is constructed. The City is presently approving a significant number of outdoor dining applications (in principle, a great thing), but each must ensure that they do not newly create rider/patron conflicts.
