The poorly maintained roads around the Inner West are struggling to cope with the level of current traffic. I don't believe Marrickville council can seriously believe the infrastructure will cope with the high level of multi storey apartment buildings currently being dumped on the residents and ratepayers of Marrickville LGA.

Watching several of these developments being built leads me to believe the quality of workmanship is often quite poor and our area will be left looking tired and worse for wear within 5-8 years.

Please scale back the flood of poor quality, higher density developments, many of which are being approved in totally inappropriate areas, overshadowing single level dwellings.

Don't ruin our beautiful Marrickville LGA.

Four years on and it's still in deferred commencement consent stage? I live next door and the mosquitos are getting entirely rampant. The water looks putrid with algae and people are throwing rubbish of all kinds into the 'lake'. I feel for the owners of adjacent properties - that amount of stagnant water over this amount of time can't not have an effect on the foundations.

I agree with the above poster. Having a 15m deep construction 'hole' vacant for years next to where you live is completely unreasonable and unhygienic. The building site is filled with water, building rubble, floating rubbish and has been unattended to by the builder/developer since the initial dig.

The barricades surrounding this vacant site have become the target of graffiti, vandalism and are insufficiently secure. Specifically - sections of the barricade on the Old Canterbury Rd perimeter look to be falling over the precipice, whilst the McGill Street barricades are in disrepair and serve as a dumping ground.

This site is both a blight to the local community and safety concern. The McGill Street precinct is full of residents, the area is frequented by locals (to access Hudson St park/Moulin Cafe/Lewisham Light rail/Lewisham bus stop area) and school children frequently pass this area. Something needs to be done about the condition of this site asap. Build or fill the hole!

Should be rejected. Despite multiple reports to council about the condition and access to footpaths in this area, the already narrow footpaths are constantly blocked by falling-down fencing, construction materials and bins. No more please.

Looks like the 'Lake' will now be filled in with a multi story unit block with underground car park....
