Dear Leichhardt Planners and Councillors,

We are writing in strong support of the proposed development at 24 Pearson Street, Balmain East.

We are very pleased that the new owners are committed to restoring and improving this beautiful heritage property to its former glory. As you are probably aware the property is currently in an extremely dilapidated condition and has been in this condition for some time.

We are in favour of the alterations and additions proposed and believe that they will be of great of benefit to the entire street.

Yours sincerely
Kathy Thane and Geoff Tasker

Dear Leichhardt Planners and Councillors,

We are writing to you to give total support for the planned development proposal submitted to council for Lot 24 Pearson Street, Balmain.

This heritage property is currently at great risk of crumbling to the ground and being lost forever and it's extremely rare to find owners with the financial ability, the courage and the commitment for genuine heritage restoration.
It would be a travesty for this property to be passed on to yet another owner with aspirations for a multi-dwelling development who is prepared to sit on the plot of land for another 5-10 years whilst it does crumble.

We’re deeply concerned that the new owners have inherited a fractious past amongst neighbours with the previous owner who possibly sought to overdevelop the property. When considering the feedback submitted about "Rothsay", please understand that there are many residents who silently support the current application.

Please consider “progress rather than perfection” when it comes to appeasing all neighbours – this historic and once majestic house only has a finite window for restoration.

Yours sincerely
Petula Martin
