Remove one (1) Araucaria heterophylla (Norfolk Island Pine) from the backyard on the left hand side and replace with four (4) medium-sized local native trees from Council’s Development Control Plan 2022, Annexure B3-2 Tree Canopy Replacement Planting List, of minimum 45L pot size, anywhere on the property, within one (1) month of removal. It should be noted that a comprehensive Plumber's Report and Structural Engineer's Report have been provided. At the time of inspection this tree presented in excellent health, condition, and structure. It is however atop a sewer line which has recently been replaced, as per the Plumber's Report: "The roots are now pressing against the new PVC pipe, causing it to deform. This is narrowing the internal diameter of the pipe leading to the main boundary trap. As the roots continue to grow and thicken, they will eventually crush the pipe or cause a complete blockage. The pipe cannot be properly maintained with the existing root conditions." Excavation along the tree's southern boundary showed the severing of roots to accommodate a retaining wall. There is also potential root severance to facilitate the repairs to the pipe. Surface roots are also impacting on the southwestern corner of the main building, to remediate the damage, roots will need to be severed. It is possible that the severance of these roots could destabilise the tree.
