As this property is on a bend of road controlled by SOILD white line down centre of road . ( no parking zone ) and
There are a lot of school children crossing this road on foot , I fear legally parked vehicles may cause a fatal pedestrian accident involving school children.

This location has no parking along the two streets, with a dangerous bend that has a continuous line which highlights the traffic constraints in this residential area. There currently is a childcare centre under construction since 2020 in the street meeting the T intersection of Redwood which will meet the local demands for a population that has minimal young families living in the Derrimut heath estate. Careful consideration to this application would surely find the proposal unsuccessful. I am a neighbouring property owner and am disappointed that I have not received any formal correspondance or notice of this application.
I oppose this application.
We already have one childcare being built in sycamore st. Parked cars will be a huge issue for this intersection
Have just found out about this proposal and no one has been informed in area of concern it would greatly affect people with cars parked in front of existing houses as people have difficulty already with cars from units in Redwood Drive parking in Gracefield Court due to council not letting them park in front of their units due to bend in road.
I strongly oppose this application for the following reasons:
1. There is already a child care centre currently under construction approximately 100 metres away in Sycamore Street. Given the close proximity of this facility, I do not believe there is a demonstrated need for another child care centre in this area.
2. Derrimut Heath Primary School is currently experiencing low student enrolment numbers. This reflects the demographic nature of the area, which consists largely of an older, established community with many long-term residents. As such, there appears to be limited demand for additional child care services.
3. The proposed property is located on a narrow, curved road with very limited parking availability. There is insufficient space for vehicles to safely park on either side of the street, creating potential congestion and safety concerns.
4. The property is also situated on the corner of a court with no through access. A child care centre would generate significant additional vehicle traffic, with parents likely entering the court to park and turn around. This would create a traffic hazard in what is currently a quiet residential court, particularly for the elderly residents who live there.
As a resident of this court, I would be extremely disappointed if this application were approved. The increased traffic, parking pressures, noise, and disruption would significantly impact the quiet character of our neighbourhood. Many residents, including myself, chose to live in a court specifically to avoid these types of issues and have invested substantially in our homes for that reason.
For these reasons, I respectfully request that this application be refused.
