- Substantive Progress: Within the scope of the approved Demolition Permit, permanent structural beams have been installed and associated renovation works have commenced. Details of the works undertaken are provided in the uploaded drawings and site photographs. External Constraint: The project is currently unable to be activated through the Building Permit (BP) process due to the pending approval of Regulation 116 (occupation of public land hoarding permit) by Council. This application was lodged approximately three months ago. As Regulation 116 approval is a statutory prerequisite for the issue of a Building Permit, the Building Permit cannot be obtained until this approval is granted. Relief Sought: Given that the Building Permit has not yet been issued, and that whether the preliminary works undertaken constitute commencement for planning purposes is a matter to be determined by Council, this application is made to formally seek an extension of the Planning Permit, to ensure that the permit does not lapse during the period of administrative approval processing.
