On a major light rail corridor forcing pedestrians into a narrow corridor up against light rail. And that is to assume patrons stay seated in the planned locations, and not crowding around the table(families?) or standing. And not a sign of a protective/preventive enclosing barrier. Transport operators been approached?
George St has significant spacial distances and/or barriers, for very good reasons. However in this restrictive area they are absent. Sure the light rail squeezed into an existing development but that is no reason to layer on further risks
Outdoor dining is encouraged for the community. However not all sites are suitable. There are way more conducive sites nearby, which meet Councils outdoor dining objective. It just happens they are not adjacent to this business. Others should be encouraged to provide where it is more suitable eg diagonally opposite where Council(?) in the past provided table seating for the enjoyment of all.
This corridor would be more suitable for council bench seating akin to that provided nearby where pedestrians can rest without impeding and putting at risk the safety of other shoppers/commuters.
