26 Fitzgerald Street, Queens Park NSW 2022
- Description
- Remove one (1) Palm from the side courtyard adjacent to 28 Fitzgerald Street and replace with one (1) small-sized local native tree from Council’s Development Control Plan 2022, Annexure B3-2 Tree Canopy Replacement Planting List, of minimum 45L pot size, anywhere on the property, within one (1) month of removal. Frond, fruit, and leaf drop is considered an insufficient reason for tree removal and can be addressed through regular maintenance. Since the previous refused Tree Permit Application under TPO-168/2024 however, this Palm has declined in health and has a sparser canopy with thinning, dry fronds - it has likely succumbed to poor health due to exposure to strong winds and weather events as it is a sole specimen for the area. It contributes minimally to environmental amenity and cooling, its removal and replacement with a more suitable endemic species is recommended.
