I support this application. While it’s great to see additional housing proposed for this well-located site, it’s a missed opportunity not to pursue a higher-density development. The site is adjacent to a bus corridor and within walking distance of Marrickville Road shops, making it ideally suited for more housing and more diverse dwelling types. I hope future proposals make better use of locations like this.

Rate payers are owed an explanation as to why the application would allow 4 car spaces (and 4 over footpath driveways) when one existed - this can only mean that there is less street parking for all. Surely parking is a public asset, not to be given or sold, benefiting the one, at the expense of the many. With future loss of car parks and massively increased housing, Marrickville is facing a street parking crisis.
