This particular acreage has become a refuge for a large colony of kangaroos. The Kangeroos have become trapped in this area due to housing development and major roads/motorway. The acreage also borders with Jacksons Creek enabling a good water supply. Any disruption would cause wildlife to venture on to roads resulting in collisions. Death or serious injury to motorists is high. Macedon Ranges has the highest road kill ratio in the state
