Hello, the plan for an agave and vinyl music bar at 3/12-18 Meyers Place, Melbourne 3000 - Ref No 42148A12 sounds like a great addition to the area that is still suffering post COVID.

However, as a long term resident and next door neighbour, the variation seeking the removal of the current licence condition which states:
"There shall be no live or recorded amplified music other than background music at any time” is a concern.

Lily Blacks only played background music and one would expect any change to this would include the new owner proving they have sufficient sound proofing of the entire building, along with appropriate security and people management plans, especially after midnight when patron and music noise amplifies down Meyers Place. Not only are Windsor Place residents of 20+ years at risk of more late night noise disturbances, but also the hotel patrons next door to the bar could be severely affected.

All for change, but it must come with respecting your neighbours in this close knit precinct. It would be appropriate to ensure this is dealt with prior to opening next month.
Thanks

I fully agree with Paul Kosky and would only add that the proposal seems likely to depreciate both the atmosphere and the value of other institutions in Meyers Lane, for no discernible value to the city. In particular to the Waiters Restaurant at 20 Meyers Lane.
